Upgrade your home’s energy efficiency and save with rebates from Enbridge and Save on Energy!

Enbridge Gas and Save on Energy have partnered to launch the new Home Renovation Savings program.

Looking to complete multiple upgrades? Start with a home energy assessment and save with rebates when you complete two or more of the following upgrades: insulationwindows and doorsheat pump water heatersair sealing.

Want to skip the home energy assessment? Get a rebate for each of the following upgrades you complete: cold climate air source heat pumpground source heat pumpsolar and storage, or smart thermostat.

Program Summary

Home Energy Assessment Stream for Bundled Upgrades

Maximum Total Rebates Available for the Assessment Stream 

  • $5,000 maximum rebate for homes primarily heated with Enbridge natural gas
  • $10,000 maximum rebate for homes primarily heated with electricity and connected to the Ontario electricity grid.
  • Maximum rebates include $600 for the home energy assessment
  • Maximum rebates apply for the life of the program

Upgrade Rebates

  • Home energy assessment – up to $600
  • Attic insulation – up to $1,500
  • Foundation insulation – Up to $3,600
  • Exposed floor insulation – up to $300
  • Exterior wall insulation – up to $3,600
  • Air sealing – up to $250
  • Window and doors – $100 per rough opening
  • Heat pump water heater – up to $500

Heat pump water heaters must be on Natural Resource Canada’s list of eligible products.
Windows and doors must be Energy Star certified.

Above rebates are applicable to the bundled assessment stream only.

No Home Energy Assessment Stream for Single Upgrade

Upgrade Rebates

  • Heat pumps – up to $12,000 (rebates vary by heat pump type, size and home heating source)
  • Smart Thermostats – $75
  • Solar panels and battery storage – up to $10,000 (installation not available through The Home Depot)

Note: This program is separate from the Home Efficiency Rebate Plus previously delivered in partnership with the Canada Greener Homes Grant and Enbridge Gas’ Home Efficiency Rebate program. Homeowners who are already enrolled in these programs should check with their Registered Energy Advisor for more details.

How to Apply

Bundle and Save!

To receive rebates on insulation, heat pump water heaters, windows and doors, and air sealing, follow these steps.

  1. Complete a home energy assessment using a Registered Energy Advisor and receive a customized report.
  2. Improve your home’s efficiency by completing at least two qualifying upgrades.
  3. Complete a final assessment with the same Registered Energy Advisor within 180 days or by December 31, 2025.
  4. Your Registered Energy Advisor will apply for your rebates, which will be sent to you by cheque.

Heat Pump Rebates

  1. Visit the web page to confirm your eligibility and to receive a list of participating contractors  HRS – Heat Pump Rebates   
  2. Choose a participating contractor to work with. The contractor will help you choose the best heat pump for your home and will submit all required documentation on your behalf.
  3. Once your application is approved after the installation of your heat pump, your rebate will be sent to you by cheque.

Thermostat Rebates

“Before you buy”

  1. Visit the Home Renovation Savings Program website to confirm your eligibility and to apply for your instant discount code.
  2. Choose a retailer: You can shop in-store at The Home Depot or online at Best Buy, Google, Copeland Sensi, or ecobee.
  3. Receive a $75 discount code.
  4. Enter the discount code at checkout of the selected retailer to get $75 off instantly.

“After you buy” 

  1. Purchase a qualifying smart thermostat from any retailer.
  2. Submit your application and invoice to the Home Renovation Savings Program website within 60 days of purchase.
  3. Enbridge Gas customers will receive their rebate as a bill credit, while participants who heat or cool with electricity will get a cheque.
